چکیده

Abstract Theories with massive gravitons have peculiarity called the van Dam-Veltman-Zakharov discontinuity in that theory propagator does not go to massless graviton zero mass limit. This results large deviation Newtons law for theories even when vanishes. We test vDVZ single vertex process namely gravitational radiation from a classical source. calculate compact binaries using perturbative Feynman diagram method. perform this calculation Einstein's gravity and verify reproduces quadrupole formula. Using same procedure we three theories: (1) Fierz-Pauli (2) modified without (3) Dvali-Gabadadze-Porrati momentum dependent mass. put limits on each of these observations binary pulsar timings.

Gravitational radiation from coalescing binary neutron stars.

We calculate the gravitational radiation produced by the merger and coalescence of inspiraling binary neutron stars using 3-dimensional numerical simulations. The stars are modeled as polytropes and start out in the pointmass limit at wide separation. The hydrodynamic integration is performed using smooth particle hydrodynamics (SPH) with Newtonian gravity, and the gravitational radiation is ca...

Gravitational radiation from compact binary systems: Gravitational waveforms and energy loss to second post-Newtonian order.

We derive the gravitational waveform and gravitational-wave energy flux generated by a binary star system of compact objects (neutron stars or black holes), accurate through second post-Newtonian order (O[(v/c)4] ∼ O[(Gm/rc)]) beyond the lowest-order quadrupole approximation. We cast the Einstein equations into the form of a flat-spacetime wave equation together with a harmonic gauge condition,...

Gravitational Dressing of Massive Soliton Theories

The massive soliton theories describe integrable perturbations of WZW cosets as generalized multi-component sine-Gordon models. We study their coupling to 2-dim gravity in the conformal gauge and show that the resulting models can be interpreted as conformal non-Abelian Toda theories when a certain algebraic condition is satisfied. These models, however, do not provide quantum mechanically cons...

Escape of gravitational radiation from the field of massive bodies.

We consider a compact source of gravitational waves of frequency ω, in or near a massive spherically symmetric distribution of matter or a black hole. Recent calculations have led to apparently contradictory results for the influence of the massive body on the propagation of the waves. We show here that the results are in fact consistent and in agreement with the “standard” viewpoint in which t...
